Welcome to    

Aqua Math

 

Dear Students & Parents,


Welcome to Aqua Math.  This year, students will explore various mathematical topics such as: numerical expressions and factors, fractions and decimals, algebraic expressions and properties, areas of polygons, ratios and rates, integers and the coordinate plane, equations and inequalities, surface area and volume, statistical measures, and data displays.  Successful students will come to class prepared and on-time, and will stay on-task and participate fully in the lessons.

 

                  

Materials for Success 

 

          Students will need the following materials EVERY DAY:

                 

                   Charged School-issued Chromebook                  

                   Paper

                   Pencils: Wood or Mechanical

                   Erasers or Eraser Caps

                   *One 3-ring binder

                   *Highlighters, Colored Pencils or Colored Pens (helpful - but not required)

                   *Headphones/Earbuds non-wireless (helpful - but not required)

Any parent that wishes to contact me with questions or concerns regarding assignments or student performance may do so by e-mailing me at [email protected].  If you are unable to e-mail me, please send a note in with your student identifying your concerns.  Please understand that if you need me to call you back, I have limited time to make phone calls.  Therefore, I request that you provide a phone number where you can be reached at between 2:00 -2:30 as this is the time I am available to make call backs.  Parents that are concerned with their student’s performance in multiple subject areas are always welcome to make an appointment to meet with the Cobalt-2 Team teaching team.

Tentative lesson plans are posted to help students who are absent or just need a reminder of the day’s activities.  These plans also allow parents to be informed as to what their student in learning and doing in Math.
